This is a textbook to introduce the society and culture of western countries represented by Britain and the United States. The choice of these two countries is mainly based on the following considerations: firstly, they're two English-speaking countries; secondly, Britain is an European country with a long history, and the United States is a North American country with a short history, but both of them play an important role on the world stage.
