什么是“让·莫内讲席教授”？

——“让·莫内讲席教授”（Jean Monnet Chair Professor）是欧盟对全球范围内从事欧洲问题教学与研究学者授聘的最高学术荣誉，授予对象为在该领域卓有成就的大学或研究机构的教授。

Prof. Dr. WANG Xiaohai is Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Chair Professor (2017-) of EU culture. He is also the Jean Monnet Teaching Module holder (2011-2014) and MA supervisor for graduates majoring in European Union Studies and Intercultural Communication at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Guangzhou. He was a visiting scholar at the Center for European Studies at Harvard University for the academic year 2012-2013. Before that he pursued short-term research at universities in the UK, France, Germany and Canada. His research focuses on European Union studies in general and cultural studies on European Integration in particular. Furthermore, he carries out his research in the following areas, such as Cultural Studies, European Identity, public diplomacy of the EU, multiculturalism, Intercultural Communication, Intercultural Business Communication, Belt and Road Initiative from the cultural perspective and so on.

In December 2019, invited by the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, he attended the PECSA International Conference held in Warsaw. At the conference he presented his paper entitled "Sustainability of the European Integration: Approaching from the Perspective of Culture".

At the end of May and the beginning of June 2018, he attended the Third European Teaching and Learning Conference (EuroTLC 2018) at the Charles University in Prague. At the conference he delivered a speech on "European Studies in China: Cultural Dimension as a New Perspective to Teach the European Union". 

In October and November 2017 he attended and delivered speeches at two International Conferences centering on Belt and Road Initiative held at Xi’an, Shaanxi Province and Duisburg-Essen University, Germany respectively. 

Before that he had attended several other International conferences held in Brussels by the European Commission and other universities or institutions in Europe.
